Tiger Woods, world number one, won yesterday with a commanding lead of eight strokes, the BMW Championship golf tournament, played in the town of Lemont, Illinois at Chicago, USA.
Woods, who won for the fifth time in this contest, scored 265 strokes, 19 under, while Australia's Marc Leishman local and Jim Furyk also finished the tournament with 273 impacts, well away from the best golfer in the world.
In the tournament, Woods had 19 birdies, two eagles, 47 holes at par and only four bogeys, one on each day of competition.
For Woods, the leader in season earnings over $ 9.000.000, is the sixth victory of the year. Previously won the Arnold Palmer Invitational in Orlando, at The Memorial Tournament in Ohio and the AT & T National in Maryland, and the Buick Open in Michigan and the Bridgestone Invitational.
With this victory, Woods also pocketed $ 1.3 million.
The first 37 players in the standings advanced to The Tour Championship, the fourth and final contest of the series play-off, based in Atlanta, Georgia, and also provides $ 7.5 million in prizes.
